Presidential Primary Citizen Journalism Contest

We are launching a Ground-Breaking new Citizen Journalism site and are GIVING AWAY an UNLOCKED 16GB APPLE iPHONE for the Best Submission!! THIS CONTEST ENDS MARCH 5TH 2008, SO YOUR ODDS OF WINNING ARE GREAT…..IF YOU ARE!

Neauj.com is our response to disappointed users of other websites where their news submissions are edited, deleted, or buried by the Editorial Staff or other users. Neaju.com is a TRUE Citizen Journalism web site and exercises NO EDITORIAL CONTROL: The Story, Pictures and Videos you submit are ALL POSTED exactly as you submitted them!

You can submit YOUR News as it happens from your MMS enabled cell phone for instant posting or later from your laptop or PC. Friends/Groups/Schools/Communities and Organizations can even create their own exclusive News Channels! Click on “What is Neaju” at www.neaju.com for more info!

What we Want: For this contest, we are specifically looking for reports relating to any election activity, including reports from the rallies, voting places, or featuring ANY of the Presidential Candidates between NOW and March 5th 2008 in those States which will have their Primary Elections/Caucus’s by March 4th, 2008.

How to Enter:
  • Go to http://www.neaju.com and open a New Member Account (upper left corner under Member Login) and open your Citizen Journalism Account.
  • Click on What is Neaju? on the top banner next to our logo and read the information concerning Neaju, how to submit an article, and general FAQ’s.
  • Drive/Bike/Run/Walk to where any of the Presidential Candidates will be. Hosting an Open House for a Candidate? Wow, what an opportunity!
  • Use your camera phone with email capabilities to take a picture/video of the candidate, or election related event, and type a quick, 20-25 word article about what you are seeing – it doesn’t matter if it has the content of "Barack Obama is in Nebraska diner, having scrambled eggs and talking to the waitress about his plans for presidency." as long as the report is accurate and true.
  • Use the email capabilities of the phone to immediately send the post to the site. While you will not be able to delete anything you have submitted, you may return to the Neaju.com website, click on the “Add to Story” button, and add additional information from your PC or Laptop.
  • If you are using a digital camera or video recorder for content to supplement your story, login in as soon as you can at Neaju.com, go to the “My Neaju” tab, and click on “Post New Article”. There you will be able to write your story and upload pictures and videos.
  • All stories and articles falling under “What we Want” as described above will be eligible for the contest. You may enter as many times as you wish during the contest period so long that each story has unique content and no more than 10 submissions per venue/event. Feel free to post other non-related news events which interest you but they will not count as entries.
  • The contest ends at 2:00AM Central Time on March 5th 2008 and you may not update your stories after that time. Please remember this is a journalism site, not a blog, so opinions and spin are not welcome.

A Few Do's and Don'ts:
  • Do track down as many candidates as you can: Republican, Democrat, Green, Independent, etc.
  • If you feel like sticking with the same candidate and following them around to different venues and submit different posts with video throughout the day, you may do so. No more than 10 unique reports per venue.
  • Do submit a short comment accompanying your image or video of 20-25 words. Submissions with no text will not qualify as valid entries. Neither will submissions with irrelevant text such as “I really hope I win this iPhone”.
  • Do not “borrow” someone else’s video or image to post. You will be disqualified from the contest if we discover it.
  • Don’t submit more than 10 articles per venue. Make sure the submissions are unique and stand alone as separate news articles. You may interview campaign workers, staff, police, government officials, and event attendees. You may report from as many venues as you like.
  • Feel free to tell your interviewee’s that they can see their story on Neaju.com. People often become more cooperative if they know they can see their story later.
  • Your may tell people that you are a Citizen Journalist reporting for Neaju.com. Do not state or imply that you are an employee or sub-contractor of Neaju.com, however, because you’re not.

Have Fun, become a Famous neaju.com Citizen Journalist, and Enter to Win a 16GB Unlocked iPhone! Keep using neaju.com AFTER the contest to submit News important to YOU without Editorial Control!
