The Guns are Back in their Holsters, the Dust is Settling, and the 2008 Frisco, TX Elections are Finally Over!

So the Frisco Texas Elections are finally over. I watched the last candidate sign come down today so it's a good time to reflect.
As local political races go, this one was a lot more interesting and intense than previous ones. Frisco has over 100,000 residents now. For the first time since 2002, the Mayor's chair was up for grabs; two City Council seats too. And no one was running unopposed. To the contrary, there were four candidates each for the two City Council seats.

ICE is Really Trying but they are Fighting a Losing Battle: and We're part of the Problem.

I really do feel sorry for the Agents and Employees of ICE. Everyone of them I have met has been dedicated; is frustrated by the bureaucracy that is Homeland Security and the politics that is Washington DC.
These folks REALLY want to do their job and they have had some wins. By themselves, these wins seem pretty significant. Just this month alone, ICE has announced the following wins:
* More than 1,800 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives, and immigration violators were arrest
